Lojo Simon’s play for younger audiences, NICE AND SLOW, completed its tour on April 26. It was performed at nine elementary schools in Utah County and four elementary schools in Emery County on a two-day intensive road trip. The show had two public performances in UVU’s Noorda Theatre, including a Sensory Friendly Performance on April 15. Sam, who is always rushed by grown-ups, plays with the imaginary sloth who lives in his upper bunk and learns the value of slowing down. NICE AND SLOW played in repertory with the world premiere production of Joanna Kraus’s ME 2, a play for middle schoolers about a pair of twins, separated at birth, who discover one another through a chance meeting. Congratulations to director Heidi Mendez Harrison, stage manager Lucas Stewart, and to company members Amanda, Abby, Tyler, Megan, and Shane.
